A TradeLens electronic Bill of Lading (eBL) can be requested via your usual Shipping Instructions process.

An eBL replaces the paper version of an Original Bill of Lading (OBL), and hence cannot be issued for a Sea waybill (SWB). Requests for eBLs should only be done for Original Bills of Lading. If you don't get your eBL as requested, please check with the carrier's customer service team.
Via Carrier Web Site
Log into the relevant carrier’s website. In the process of submitting your shipping instructions for a particular bill of lading, please add the keyword "tradelens ebl" in the "Additional Comments" field at the end. Please ensure the spelling of the keyword is correct.
Via INTTRA
Log into INTTRA. In the process of submitting your shipping instructions for a particular bill of lading, please add the keyword "tradelens ebl" in the "B/L Comments" field. Please ensure the spelling of the keyword is correct.
Via Direct EDI
If you have a direct EDI connection to your carrier for submitting shipping instructions, you need to adjust your mapping as per the below instructions:
- Set the field “paperless B/L = tradelens”
- If you don’t have the field in your systems, provide the keyword "tradelens ebl" under B/L comment or note field
