What is TradeLens Provisioning
Provisioning is the first step towards viewing your consignments on TradeLens platform. There are a total of 8 carriers partnering with TradeLens:
- Maersk (includes: Sealand)
- CMA-CGM (includes: ANL, CNC, APL)
- Hamburg Süd (includes: Aliança)
- Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC)
- Zim Integrated Shipping Services (ZIM)
- Ocean Network Express (ONE)
- Hapag-Lloyd
- Seaboard Marine
While filling out the form, you will be prompted to choose the ocean carriers that you wish to provision. Filling out the online form initiates the mapping process between TradeLens and the selected carriers. It is important to accurately fill in the online form per carrier, including:
- All subsidiaries and/or entities legally related to your organization.
- Use the exact legal entity name and addresses as shown in the Bill of Lading (or contract) with the carriers.
If the provisioning process is incomplete, you may risk not seeing your consignments on the TradeLens platform. That is why it's important to fill in the form accurately and with all the required entity information.
Your TradeLens data provision will be based on your Unique Customer Codes as defined within your selected carriers’ systems, which are tied to a combination of your Legal Entity Name(s) and Address(es). Data provisioning is not available to be limited to specific ocean freight contracts at this time.
TradeLens will activate your account based on the initial provisioning data you provide. You may make modifications to your provisioning information within the terms of your subscription at any time.
How to fill in the online form:
You will have the link to the online provisioning form, as well as, a “Provisioning Identity Number” in the welcome letter from your onboarding manager.
If you have not yet registered for an IBM ID – please create one. You can refer to this article.
Once your IBM ID is activated, navigate to the link provided in the welcome letter (https://provisioning.tradelens.com/) and log in using your IBM Credentials.
Having a copy of a recent bill of lading may help speed up the mapping process by the carriers. This information is utilized by our carrier partners to confirm your company identity and maintain secure access to your appropriate data.
On the next page, please enter the “Provisioning Identity Code” as received in the welcome letter. Then your company’s name that was used in the TradeLens signed agreement, and finally your current address.
Please indicate if you have purchased TradeLens Core, TradeLens eBL, or both. If unsure, then leave the default value selected.
Click on “Next” to navigate to the next page.
On this page, please choose the carriers you wish to provision with TradeLens. On the left, you will see all carrier affiliates that will be automatically mapped when the main carrier is selected. At least one carrier must be selected to start the mapping process.
On the next page, an empty list will be shown. Under legal entity, please list all entities that you wish to see the consignments separated by rows. Please add the legal name that holds the contract with the ocean carrier or the name of the organization as it appears in the booking or bill of lading related to that carrier. It is important to only list entities or subsidiaries related to your organization.
After filling in the address and adding a recent sample of a bill of lading number – you may add in a separate row the next entity details. You may choose to attach the bill of lading document itself if available. Please make sure that the bill of lading document is not older than 30 days.
Once you fill out all the entities you need to be mapped, you may choose to add additional comments to the carrier. If you need to map extra entities, you can click on “Add Row”.
If you are a returning client or have previously filled the form for the same carrier then please select “Yes” for the "Have you mapped this carrier before?" question.
Adding multiple carriers
Click “Next” to move on to the next carrier you chose.
For the next carrier, you will see that the entities and addresses you previously entered have been copied over to the new carrier. Please ensure that you do in fact need these entities, or you can edit/delete/add the entities for the new carrier. Please make sure to add the new bill of lading samples related to that carrier.
